When Maybelline first started advertising their Pulse Perfection mascara, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical. Basically, it is a regular black mascara that comes with a vibrating brush which is supposed to coat your lashes better (you know how makeup artists do that fancy brush-wiggle trick?).
Unfortunately, I had a hard time with this one…
First, the whole vibrating thing is just weird to me. I get the concept of it, but are we really getting SO lazy that we can’t even move our own mascara wands? The design is a little odd as well — you have to hold down the button while you apply the mascara, but it is so tiny that my finger kept slipping off of it so that the vibration stopped. I think an on/off switch would have been better. This resulted in a sort of clumpy application of the mascara. The actual mascara is not bad at all, and I just apply it without using the vibrator (haha, did you really think I’d get all the way through this post without giggling at this? Didn’t think so.)
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this mascara. It retails at $14.99 which is much cheaper than the higher-end vibrating mascaras, but it is too expensive for me to just use as a regular mascara! Has anyone else tried this product? Have you figured out a better way to use it? Let me know!
