It seems like everywhere I look these days I’m surrounded by split ends. Seriously. Look at the lady next to you in line at Target. The girl next to you in class. Your mom. I, from time to time, have been guilty of some gnarly ends, but with the New Year came a pledge to consistently maintain my ends, and it’s working out pretty well.
For starters, get a trim every 8 weeks max. Even if you have to drag your shaggy mane down to Great Clips (which, by the way, I have done before) it’s worth the trip. With all the heating, straightening, and curling apparatuses out there it can be hard to keep your hair looking fresh. I know it seems tedious and like a total waste of money, but you’ll thank me in the end. Your hair is your best accessory. Even if your outfit is all wrong, people will still leave the party saying “She has the most amazing head of hair I’ve ever seen.” Trust me.
Now that you’re tuned in to the “end” result, this may cause the ever-so-frequent OCD “my ends look a hot mess” wig out - no pun intended. No need to worry, I have the perfect solution to help carry you over until the next cut. Remember last blog when I mentioned my mother’s FAVE hair product that she knows by only one name? Well, here is her version of “hair crack,” aka MoroccanOil.
This stuff is like silk in a bottle. Use it two ways: either fresh out of the shower before blow drying, or after you’re done styling to give hair a sleek finish. Your ends will look fresh and shiny and I guarantee no one will know you’re in between cuts. A little bit will do the trick - too much and your hair can look greasy. Soon you will know why my mother can only utter “hair crack” when someone asks her how she got such amazing, shiny hair. The good news is MoroccanOil has a whole line of hair products guaranteed to make you an addict for sure.
