The beauty world isn’t always fun and games. This past Sunday, Solange Magnano, a former Miss Argentina, passed away due to complications caused by a cosmetic surgery that she had a few days earlier. The procedure was a standard gluteoplasty surgery, where either implants are inserted, or silicone gel is injected into the buttocks to make it more shapely.
Magnano was only 38 years old, and she left behind a husband and 8-year-old twins. Unfortunately, hers is not such a rare case. Remember when Kanye West’s mother died in 2007 following her tummy tuck? And did you know that Olivia Goldsmith, author of The First Wives Club, died after a face lift in 2004?
I don’t mean to be a downer, but it makes me sad to think that these women died for the sake of looking a little bit younger or being a little bit firmer. What are your thoughts on cosmetic surgeries? Would you ever go under the knife knowing these risks?
