Recognize the guys in the photo? Maybe not right away, but if you heard their names, being the beauty junkie that you are, you would for sure know them. Meet François Nars and Barneys creative director, Simon Doonan. In celebration of NARS’ 15th Anniversary, François Nars made a special personal appearance at Barneys New York last Thursday to sign copies of his new limited-edition book, 15X15. Doonan, who wrote the foreword to this book, hosted the signing.

Not only does 15X15 feature a collection of 15 celebrity portraits (Naomi Campbell, Marc Jacobs, and Isabella Rossellini among others), each inspired by a NARS product shade and based on an iconic reference chosen by François Nars, BUT all 50 available copies of the $80 book sold out with 100% of the sales being distributed equally among the 15 charities chosen by the participating celebrities!

A team of NARS makeup artists offered customers in-store consultations with the NARS’ two limited-edition 15th Anniversary Palettes (Wild At Heart and Everlasting Love), the NARS Loves New York Set and NARS Holiday 2009 collection. In other François Nars news, he also received an award this week from WWD Beauty Biz for “Most Innovative Marketer of the Year.” He was recognized for his recent work at Marc Jacobs, his impactful editorials and the 15X15 Project.
