The night is finally here, and you are anxiously waiting for your date to pick you up for dinner. Hair is done, dress is perfect, and handbag is adorable — and tiny. I love a cute clutch or little shoulder bag just as much as the next girl, but how are you supposed to carry anything in it? I’ve performed a sort of handbag-content triage, and these are the top five items that are necessary (and will fit in that tiny bag!).

1. Cargo Glossbox Lipgloss — Lipgloss touch-ups will be essential, but you don’t have a lot of extra room to spare. These lipgloss sticks are the perfect solution — toss one in your bag and lose almost no space!

2. Lusion VitaminMints — Breath mints are completely necessary, especially if you are going out to eat. Chewing gum can look sort of tacky, especially if you are a nervous gum-chewer who tends to play with it when you have the jitters. These mints are not only freshening, but they also have vitamins in them, like B12, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

3. Band Aids — Bring at least two band aids with you if you are wearing heels. Heels can be really sexy because they make you look taller and thinner, but they are not sexy at all if they give you blisters and cause you to limp.

4. Cash — It’s the 21st century, which has made the rules for dating even more difficult to follow. It used to be that guys just paid for everything, but that’s not always the case anymore. If he asked you out on the date, you would assume that he will be paying, but bring some cash just in case you end up splitting the bill instead.

5. Cell Phone — If he asked you out on the date and expects you to pay for the entire evening, you’ll need your cell phone so that when “mom” calls to tell you about that sudden family emergency, you can make a quick exit.
