To wrap up our dating special, I went straight to the source for date-night beauty secrets: a guy.

More often than not, guys aren’t looking for a girl whose face is spackled with makeup. My Insider Guy says that when he sees a girl completely covered up with makeup, he wonders, “what are you hiding?” He says that the less makeup a girl is wearing, the better because it shows that she is comfortable with who she is.

He also divulged that hairspray freaks him out. “I don’t like it when girls have huge bangs that they have to put a lot of hairspray in so that they defy the laws of gravity. If you can tell that a girl is wearing hairspray, it’s not good.”

Finally, he says, stick with natural lip colors like soft reds and pinks. Unnatural lip colors look “weird”. Also, choose your gloss wisely because those that taste good (”not waxy ones!” he says) can encourage more kisses.
