Welcome to our new FlauntMe.com weekly special: the International Beauty Report! Each Wednesday, we’ll be bringing you information on beauty secrets, trends and products from around the globe. Today’s beauty trend comes from one of my favorite destinations: Japan.
Sometimes we all wish that we had a little more collagen in our skin to keep it looking smooth and young, but the Japanese are pro-active about getting plenty of it; they actually enrich foods with collagen in order to improve their skin.
According to a report by W Magazine, there is actually a cheesecake made by Meiji that contains collagen. Yum?
W also consulted a dermatology spokesperson who said that the whole thing is bogus and that ingesting it won’t do anything for your skin. This is disappointing to me, because anything that requires you to eat in order to look better is a-OK with me. However, if you choose to not believe the dermatologist (which I might just do), I’d recommend ordering these Fuwarinka Rose candies that are infused with collagen. They might not halt the aging process, but they taste really good which has to count for something!
