Pop star Beyonce is jumping on the fragrance bandwagon and releasing her first scent, Beyonce Heat, in February. She did an exclusive interview with WWD in which she talks about the long process that goes into finalizing a perfume. She says that she wore the scent while she was on tour, and got compliments from fans at meet-and-greet sessions on it. I don’t know about you, but I’d be afraid that if I told B that she smelled good that her bodyguards would kick my butt out of there.

The bottle is inspired by antique perfume bottle collections that Beyonce’s mom had while she was growing up, and she wanted the color to look like fire since she uses a lot of pyrotechnics in her shows. According to the report, the scents are, “top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach; a heart of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk, and a drydown of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.”

Are you a big enough Beyonce fan to want to smell like her? I’m pretty set in my perfume ways (I’ve been wearing Marc Jacobs for years), and I don’t usually like to buy into celeb scents, but it sounds like Beyonce has spent a long time perfecting this one. The scent will retail between $39 and $59.
