From Girlybubble: Dear Santa: I’ve been a pretty darn good person this year. I’ve consistently dotted my ‘I’s and crossed my ‘T’s, stifled my farts in church and have kept my usage of curse words to a minimum. I think it’s only fitting that you consider my Top 5 beauty wishlist items for Christmas! More »

The nose is a powerful tool. It can pinpoint up to 10,000 unique smells and as the centerpiece of the face, it has a powerful impact on attracting and sniffing out the right mate(s). Pleasant aromas can amp up the lust we feel when we’re in love. Call it pheromones or hormones, but the nose knows! More »

Tomorrow, Poppy King, founder of the amaaaazing lipstick line Lipstick Queen, will be at Barney’s in NYC from 11am to 5pm. Now, if you’ve never heard of Poppy and/or Lipstick Queen, you are missing out. Big time. Sephora announced today that jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino will launch a full cosmetics line in February 2010! You probably know Tarina from her Hello Kitty jewelry collaborations, and it looks as though this collection is going to be equally as cute! More »

The beauty world isn’t always fun and games. This past Sunday, Solange Magnano, a former Miss Argentina, passed away due to complications caused by a cosmetic surgery that she had a few days earlier. The procedure was a standard gluteoplasty surgery, where either implants are inserted, or silicone gel is injected into the buttocks to make it more shapely. More »

From Girlybubble: This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you, but I’m kind of a sucker for cute packaging, especially if it’s make-up. Take Benefit’s Posie Tint for example. It’s chrome pink and named after one of my favorite flowers, the posie. To me, it’s a god-send being both a liquid cheek AND lip stain. Despite the winter season’s tendency to favor dark flushed winter cheeks over bright posie (not rosy) cheeks, I’m still willing to opt for instant gratification if it means giving me a brighter, warmer face. I’m make-up rebel, basically. More »

Out of your go-to acne product? Staying at the boy toy’s pad? I’ve got the fix for Mr. Zit… Unless you’re Rudolph and Clarice; she seems to much favor the bright red dot over the covered up version. More »

From Ningin: What do you get when fashion designer Tsumori Chisato collaborates with renowned make-up artist Shu Uemura? Cats and stars galore! More »

When I was in junior high and high school, I felt that I had to have all of the best cosmetics and beauty products, and one of the things I was addicted to was Hard Candy’s neon and glitter ring-topped nail polishes. More »

From Wirebot:

Do you ever wonder what certain celebrities, such as Micheal Jackson or Lady Gaga, would play if they were diehard video game fanatics? Not to say some aren’t, but I think it would be interesting to know exactly what type of shooter Frank Sinatra would be into, or just how hard Paris Hilton kicks ass in Street Fighter. These are pretty people, and because we are obsessed with celebrities, as gamers we need to know just what gets their gamerscore pumping. More »

Wouldn’t life be easier if you could share more products with your man? We buy multiple shampoos, soaps and deodorants simply because some are labeled “Men” and others “Women”. While I don’t condone the sharing of deodorant or mandate the use of floral shampoos by men (unless that’s your thing, I guess — be my guest), I do think it would be nice to share once in a while. D&G Recently put out a line of five unisex scents that are made to mix and match. I thought it was a pretty cool idea, so I sampled each scent to see what the fuss was all about. More »

From Girlybubble: In my tween years, Hannah Montana didn’t exist and my family had yet to discover the joys of the satellite dish. Instead, I resorted to a lot of daytime talk shows for after school entertainment. I watched all the classic ’90s daytime talk shows; Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, Maury — I watched it all. It was always the “Geek to Chic” episodes I enjoyed most. What’s not to fancy about the idea that someone average could look…not average? Although those talk shows are long gone, the idea of the make-over movie has yet to escape Hollywood. Enjoy some of my picks for Top 5 make-over movies! More »

I have something you’re gonna like….

Today’s pick: Nars Blush in Orgasm. Now don’t get too excited - we’re talkin names of products here, not actions. I’m only a miracle worker in the beauty department. I’ve been using this blush for 3 years now and I’m in love. Coincidence it’s called orgasm? I think not. More »

From Wirebot:

It’s pretty much agreed on that some games are art-based - they feature beautiful and/or stylistic artwork, and sometimes the art is really what makes the game. Many games can be called a work of art. But can a work of art be a game? Usually the art in a game takes the backseat, aiding and enhancing the gaming experience. But recently a number of games have begun to question what would happen if the art was the game. The point is not to get through the game and “win,” the point is to just play for the sake of playing. Sometimes, there is no point. The focus lies in the experience. You as a player are placed inside a work of art, and your actions influence the whole artwork in general, or help you discover new ways of seeing it.

You might call it interactive art. More »
