The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards has come to a close, and this year provided us with some pretty great entertainment, as usual. While I always anticipate the great looks and beautiful dresses of Grammy night, I have to say that I was really looking forward to seeing what Lady Gaga would turn out in this evening. Here’s a recap of her looks from her successful (2 awards!) evening. More »

Confession: beauty pageants give me the creeps a little bit — the choreographed dance sequence, the “talent” competition, the vague and politically correct answers to questions like, “Why should the U.S. help Haiti?” Creepy. Somehow, there seems to be a disconnect between being intelligent and modeling a swimsuit (”it’s for the ratings”, my boyfriend insists). Nonetheless, the Miss America pageant is a longstanding American tradition, and last night a 22-year-old woman named Caressa Cameron (Miss Virginia) was crowned as Miss America 2010. More »

Linda Eisner, creator of Pencil Me In Cosmetics has a few great tips on how to use her line of eco friendly, heavily pigmented eyeliners. Each pencil is infused with vitamins, and anti-oxidants too and they work really well for folks with sensitive eyes. More »

I have used three different mascaras from Bare Escentuals (BE), and I have to say that the Buxom Lash Mascara is my favorite. The Big Tease Mascara has a unique brush that separates the lashes from the root to the tip, and the Weather Everything Waterproof Mascara does stay put. However, the hourglass shaped brush on the Buxom Lash Mascara is the best when it comes to application. More »

I just read that world-renowned makeup artist, Trish McEvoy, will appear on an episode of Gossip Girl after the season (finally) resumes on March 8th. She’ll be appearing as herself, doing makeup backstage at Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion show. More »

The highly anticipated season finale of Lost is coming February 2nd! For all you Lost fans, I have put together a beauty survival kit for Kate Austen, our heroine who steals the heart of Jack, the handsome doctor, who loves her, and also wants to save everyone too. She also had something special with Sawyer, the island con-man and heartthrob with a heart of gold. Sawyer, who used to love her, probably still does, and he’s recently lost his Juliet, so he may need a shoulder to cry on soon. More »

The temperature has been steadily dropping here in New York City — we even had snow yesterday morning! As much as I love a pretty dusting of powder on the ground, I’d rather not be freezing while I’m walking around. I started daydreaming a little bit this morning about what I’d pack on a tropical vacation, if I were going on one that is. I’m starting to feel warmer already! More »

Does the smell of fresh ground coffee in the morning tantalize your senses and encourage you to take on the day with a positive attitude? If only you could bottle that smell and take it around with you all day long, you would be energetic and productive. Caffeine can give you the boost you need to get your lazy mind working, and it can help perk up your skin too. More »

Ulta is one of my very favorite shops to turn to when I’m looking to purchase some new beauty supplies, and now they’ve just announced they’re coming out with a new line of bargain products. And by bargain, I mean the average price of the items will be $2! More »

The couture shows have been happening this week in Paris, which means that I’ve been drooling over them all week. What I wouldn’t give to be there taking in the couture and eating copious amounts of opèra pastries! Ah, well, that’s what the internet is for, right? Some fashion writers have been a little bit critical of the collections, but one that seems to be popular with everyone is Chanel. More »

From Girlybubble: Where can you buy a chocolate gift box for someone on Valentine’s Day?

If you’re a girl, then you’re probably thinking,

a.) How the hell am I supposed to know?? I get them. I eat them. End of story. b.) How the hell am I supposed to know?? I’ve only ever gotten those frikken condom roses. c.) How the hell am I supposed to know?? …I’ve never gotten one. I HATE VALENTINE’S DAY. More »

I’m one of those people who swears by salon-quality shampoos, and ever since I’ve been getting my hair highlighted, I try to purchase shampoos that will keep my blonde highlights bright and fresh. When I saw Pantene’s Blonde Highlighting Expressions shampoo on sale, I decided to give it a go. It’s not salon-quality, but I wanted to see how it worked. More »
