Skin Food is a popular brand of Korean make-up and skin care nowadays. The Skin captures the interest of poeple who want beauty on par with skin benefits, which are all from the naturally derived vitamins of fruits and vegetables. As a health-conscious individual, I make sure that I eat healthy, have a good lifestyle, and of course, take care of my body –things that are all essential in preserving and enhancing beauty. Admittedly, the “natural” ingredients in the products got me really interested in trying out the stuff from Skin Food. I had been using Skin Food products for about 2 years now, on par with another Korean line, The Face Shop. So far, my skin is loving the ingredients that they put into their products. It’s au naturale!

One of my favorite products there is their White Grape Fresh Foundation.

This fresh make-up foundation for skincare contains a white grape extract rich with various vitamins and polyphenol to make your skin more moisturized and healthier. It is applied smoothly and adheres well to your skin that you feel comfortable and light as if it were your own skin. Moreover, your make-up lasts longer owing to its sebum-control powder.

Available shades:

Pros

* very light, no heavy feel
* gives out a natural “glow”, skin looks healthy
* no allergies or skin reactions
* scent: is ok
* you can apply sheer or build up coverage
* it covers minor imperfections
* non-drying
* it dries up into a powdery finish
* packaging: cute and I love it that it comes with a pump

Cons

* scent: could be overwhelming to some
* if you have really bad skin, a concealer is still needed
* limited shades, both shades work well for lighter skinned individuals.
* super oily skinned individuals: May need primer prior to foundation application
* I can’t tell which shade I got as it wasn’t written in the packaging

Tips

* pump 1x or 1.5x for the whole face
* you can use your “clean” fingers to apply, I prefer using my Dual Foundation Brush (either from Dollface or Essence of Beauty)
* oily skinned: needed primer to ensure not oiling up
* finish up with a setting powder
* if itchiness or signs of redness occur: STOP using the product immediately.

Where to purchase and how much?

At local Skin Food stores for Php1,150 (approx $25.00)

I soooo love this foundation! It is perfect for this cold season when my skin is uber dry. It moisturizes as it evens out the skin tone, so skin looks young and radiant, not masked with make-up. trust me, it looks very natural. I have very sensitive skin but this foundation does not irritate my skin. Also, I love Korean make-up because their shades matches my skin tone perfectly (I’m fair skinned, btw). So if you are looking for a nice winter foundation, this is my absolute pick for you =)
