I picked up a copy of last week’s French Elle magazine (it’s a weekly in France… if only I could afford to have it shipped to the U.S.!), and Dree Hemingway was on the cover. Dree is a model and the great-granddaughter of a writer you may have heard of… Ernest Hemingway? Anyway, famous granddaddy aside, Dree was sporting some pretty awesome hair flowers on the cover!

That’s right, flowers made out of hair. Not just flowers in her hair. Take a look at the scan, and tell me how you think they did this! Inside the mag, they list the hair accessories as coming from Maison John Nollet. Nollet is a super-talented hair stylist who does work for big-name French celebs like Marion Cotillard and Monica Bellucci, and he also styled the famous bob on Audrey Tatou in Amelie! He has a line of haute couture hair accessories, which makes finding this particular style very hard to find online since it was probably custom-made.

I can’t tell if the accessories have metal centers with fake hair around them, or if they stuck the accessories into Dree’s hair to form flowers. Either way, I think this is a totally cool alternative to Gaga’s hair bow! Would you wear it?
