Ready for a new hair style? I know I am. But what new styles can we try to do without making fools of ourselves? Not to worry, I pulled a few simple styles, slightly non-traditional looks off the runway for us.
The Princess Braid
At the Alexander Wang Spring 2010 show, each model was adorned with a long medieval braid, coming down from one side. No doubt hair extensions provided the length we saw. I’ve always wanted to be a princess!
The Side Part
The Philip Lim Spring 2010 Show featured the classic and sleek side part, that has come back in style and is usually associated with gender bending styles. By playfully adding a bright colored barrette, the look portrays a more youthful appearance.
I’m not sure if I want to wear a barrette in my hair at my age. Perhaps, a nice metal-colored, designed hair clip would work better.
The Amish Hippie
The hair designs at the Diane Von Furstenberg show were two fun but rather distinct looks. Some models wore Amish Milkmaid braids down both sides of the face, and a few down the back too. The other models at the show had tight tousled curls, the kind that can be created by braiding the hair, spraying it with hair spray, then letting the braided hair out in the morning.
I love braids, I’m just not sure if they work hanging down on both sides of my face, perhaps this look might work better if the two loose braids are clipped back together instead.
None of these styles are hard to do. The hardest thing is deciding which look can we easily pull off!
