Berry colored lips are one of the hottest makeup of trends for Spring 2010. Not sure which berry lipstick will work for you? Being a makeup artist gives me a different perspective when it comes to color. We as artists tend to think, it’s not the color you wear, it’s how you wear it.

With that being said if you want to play it safe, use this quick reference guide to help you decide which berry lipstick will look its best on you!

Fair to light Complexion:Cranberry and plum berry tones will compliment your complexion best.Try these shades:“Raspberry Ice” and “Strawberry Ice” by Prescriptives

Medium - Tan Complexion: You are the lucky ones, most berry tones will look great on you! Try these shades: “Berry” by Lorac Cosmetics and “Eros” Lip Lacquer by Nars Cosmetics

Dark Complexion: Try a rich deep berry toned lip color or blackberry lipstick will compliment your darker skin tones best. A matte lipstick will give off more color, because it has a flat texture. Try these shades: “Tamango” by Nars Cosmetics and “Cyber” by Mac Cosmetics.

Plum tones work great on a fair skin complexion too, I like all of them!

I’ve been using plum lipstick forEVER (”Saucy mauve,” to be exact). And I’m pale.. and it looks better than any other shade I’ve tried. (:

Wow, great Berry selections. I need to get myself to a Sephora, stat!
