Proactive is one of those companies that does a really good job with their marketing campaigns. Clear, acne-free skin is something we all want when it comes to our beauty routines. But it can be a bit embarrassing admitting that we have acne and need help. Katy Perry wants us to know she’s in the same boat and that Proactive can help.
If you questioned using Proactive in the past, you might be a little more likely to use it now that you know Katy is a Proactive user and supporter. Katy, along with Avril Lavigne and Jenna Fischer are the company’s newest spokespeople. Proactive believes that if the common person can relate to celebrities in terms of skin problems, we’ll be more likely to feel less ashamed about it. And they’re probably right.
Katy shares her story on the newest commercials and admits, “It takes a lot of guts to put it out there; to share my side of the story about acne because you know, it’s one of those vulnerable moments. But I think that a lot of people go through this.” Lots of young girls love and relate to Katy, so if they see her using Proactive, they’ll probably be more likely to use it as well.
Of course, the celebrities are getting millions of dollars to share their acne-related stories, but does that mean you trust them any less? I think that hiring Katy Perry was a very smart move on Proactive’s part!
