It’s no secret that Sephora is a leader (if not the leader) in beauty in the U.S. I’ve been shopping there for years, and I’ve always been impressed by the level of customer service that I received while shopping. My grandfather always used to say that when he was a newlywed shopping in department stores for my grandmother that the sales people would bring him a chair and a drink while they went to find the perfect gift — now that’s service!

Anyway, the sales people at Sephora aren’t pushy, but they know their stuff when you need them. Today, I was on a mission to find a new under eye concealer, and I was so happy when I walked out of the store, that I felt the need to share!

So, I’ve been using Erase Paste by Benefit as my under eye concealer for a while now, but I’ve noticed that I usually have to blend it back in during the day because it creases under my eyes. I’m nearing the end of the pot, so I decided to find a new product to try. I walked into the Sephora at Columbus Circle in NYC and told one of the employees about my quest, and immediately she had ideas. She instructed me to remove my eye makeup, and we got to work.

First, she suggested the MAKEUP FOREVER HD Invisible Cover Concealer. She applied it under one eye, and it was too light. She tried the next shade up under the other eye, and it had too much yellow in it for my skin tone. I asked about the Korres Wild Rose Concealer since I use their tinted moisturizer, but we had problems with matching my skin tone there too.

Finally, she thought she could solve my problem. With swatches from all of our failed attempts swiped across her hand, she tested out the Dior Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer. We applied it under my eyes, and success! It was a perfect match: a lighter formula that shouldn’t crease in the perfect color!

My Sephora girl hooked me up with a nice sample of Cosmedicine Medi-morphosis Exfoliator (she noticed that the skin around my nose was a little flaky) and sent me on my way. Not only am I happy that I found a great new concealer, but also that customer service does still exist!

Yeah, I’d definitely give it a try! The sales lady at Sephora told me that my skin is actually a little too young for Erase Paste, which would mean that yours probably is too. And I tried that scrub she gave me… wow. I keep touching my face hahah.

I use Erase Paste too! I’ll give Diorskin a try though. Great post!
