This week’s international beauty secret, Rose of Heaven Body Cream, comes from Japan and Bulgaria! A Japanese friend of mine recommended this body cream that is made with Bulgarian damask roses by Kose. This is a thick body butter that claims to leave your skin velvety smooth. I’m a fan of almost anything rose scented, so count me in!
According to my friend, the scent of this lotion is really nice and not too overpowering. Jinra wrote about a $1,000 Kose beauty cream a while back, but don’t worry, this one is more modestly priced — $22 at YesStyle (it is temporarily out of stock, but you can usually find some on Ebay too!).
The damask rose originated in Persia, but is now grown widely for commercial use in Bulgaria. Rose oil softens the skin, making it a perfect addition to a body cream, and it also has aromatherapy uses. Sounds like a great way to fight this annoying dry winter skin to me!
Thanks to the American Botanical Council for information on the damask rose.
