Winter can be an adventurous season filled with skiing, snowboarding and hiking, but you don’t even have to do these extreme sports to get dry, chapped hands. Sometimes all it takes is forgetting to wear your gloves when you run errands and then you’re left to deal with flaky, rough hands. So how do you revive the skin on your hands overnight?

I recently started using a healing ointment from Eucerin called Aquaphor, which is dermatologist recommended and can be found at your local drugstore. It has a thick, petroleum texture, and it can be used to help heal cuts, scrapes and burns. Ever notice how your skin takes longer to heal when it’s dry?

Before I go to bed at night, I apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to the tops of my hands, and by the morning, my hands feel baby soft again. If you’re dryness is severe, you can go a step further and sleep in moisturizing gloves.
