So it turns out that chocolate does the body good inside and out (did you read this piece in the New York Times yesterday about chocolate and yoga?)! Having a piece of chocolate usually makes my day a little brighter, but did you know that it also has anti-inflammatory properties? Neither did I! I first saw chocolate wax being offered at a salon a few years ago, and I assumed that it was just being offered as a novelty. Then I looked into it further and learned that it does serve a purpose!
Chocolate wax is usually used for more sensitive waxing areas, such as underarms and the bikini area, and the dreaded Brazilian wax! Most people claim that it actually hurts less than traditional waxing. An added bonus is that it makes the room smell chocolate-y! I think the pricing is usually about the same as a typical wax, but it would depend on where you go.
If you are a DIY waxer (Hats off to you, my friend. I can’t do it.), you can buy a microwaveable chocolate wax by GiGi on Amazon for $14.50.
While I was doing my research, I came across this funny video, called CHOCOLATE!! WAX!! of a girl having her underarms chocolate waxed. The woman doing the waxing is very enthusiastic and keeps saying that it doesn’t hurt while the girl lays motionless with a plastic lei around her neck. Yeah, that one threw me off too. Anyway, watch her work some chocolate magic below.

I have tried waxing several times but with no luck. This sounds like a really neat product, but I don’t think waxing is for me.
