The temperature has been steadily dropping here in New York City — we even had snow yesterday morning! As much as I love a pretty dusting of powder on the ground, I’d rather not be freezing while I’m walking around. I started daydreaming a little bit this morning about what I’d pack on a tropical vacation, if I were going on one that is. I’m starting to feel warmer already!

Clothes
The nice thing about tropical vacations is that you don’t have to pack very much! Right now I’m wishing that I had a cute little suit like this Rosa Cha Safety Pin Swimsuit! I like to keep it simple when it comes to bathing suits, but I’d love to go all-out with a fabulous with a cover-up!

This Diane von Furstenberg cover-up had me at first-sight. The animal print combined with the braided neckline? Just fabulous. I’m not too crazy about the price tag though, so I found a somewhat similar cover-up for less at figleaves.

Makeup
The lack of sunshine here hasn’t exactly left me with the best coloring lately. Alright, let’s face it… it’s left me with no coloring. I’m see-through. As a fair-skinned girl, I’ve always had a tough time finding a bronzer that looks natural on me, but I finally found one. The first thing to go into my imaginary suitcase? Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder. It’ll help me look a little healthier before I hit the beach!

For my cheeks, I’d use nothing other than Benefit’s CORALista Blush! It is the absolute perfect shimmery coral pink to give your pale skin a boost, or enhance your tan! For lips, I’d love to try the new MAC in Lillyland Lipgelee in Lush & Bright.

Are you going on a warm vacation soon? What are your packing essentials for a tropical getaway?
