Vanity Fair magazine runs a “New Hollywood” issue each year, featuring the stars who they deem up-and-coming. The March 2010 issue features nine lovely ladies on the cover, all very talented and beautiful. The problem? Some people are a little miffed that the group is not at all diverse.

On the cover this year are (L to R) Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood. I’ll be honest and say that I’m not a huge fan of any of these girls, but I know that a lot of people are. This post from Yahoo!’s fashion and beauty page brings up a good point: there have been some great and truly “new” actresses in Hollywood lately who aren’t white and skinny.

Of course, the people over at Vanity Fair are entitled to deem anyone they want as “people to watch”. Do you think that they should have tried to diversify the group a little, or are people getting worked up over nothing?
