The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science has announced the nominees for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. In the category of Best Makeup are the following artists:

Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano for their work in the movie “Il Divo.”

Aldo Signoretti is an Italian makeup artist who was nominated twice in 2001 for “Moulin Rouge” and in 2006 for “Apocalypto”. Vittorio Sodano’s works have been in movies like “The Black Dahlia” and he was also nominated for “Apocalypto”.

Barney Burman, Mindy Hall and Joel Harlow for the latest installment of “Star Trek.”

Mindy Hall, is the head of the makeup department for Star Trek and this is her first nomination.
Joel Harlow, special effects artist, had already won two Emmys for “The Shining” and “The Stand.”
Barney Burman created the fantasy characters on “Star Wars.”

John Henry Gordon and Jenny Shircore for “The Young Victoria.”
Hair stylist John Henry Gordon isalso known for his work in “Elizabeth” and “Phantom of the Opera.”
The British make-up artist Jenny Shircore already won an Oscar in 1999 for “Elizabeth.”
