A night out on the town during a busy holiday like Valentine’s Day can be more frustrating and disappointing than romantic. Instead of scheduling reservations at an upscale restaurant, try something different by planning a more intimate setting within your own home.

Some say that the way into a man’s heart is through his stomach, so if you think your man will appreciate a home cooked meal from his sweetheart, start cooking and baking with love. However, when you both have busy schedules and barely get a chance to rest and relax together, order some delicious food in. This doesn’t mean you have to settle for Chinese food or pizza (although these are delicious too), because many restaurants have a pick up option too.

You can also take this holiday and turn it into a catch up time for you and your special someone. Maybe rent a movie the both of you have wanted to watch or play an engaging board game like the Office DVD Board Game (super fun game, by the way, if you watch the show). You can also take this time to catch up on each other…a sensual back massage will really spice up the evening.

Even though you’re staying indoors, you can still create a seductive atmosphere in the bedroom or a romantic nook on your couch or patio. Remember, making your sweetheart happy this Valentine’s Day doesn’t require an elaborate display as long as you’re able to spend quality time together. It’s all about showing your love and affection.

The nice thing about spending a night in is that you don’t have to spend too much time getting ready. Most men say that they prefer less makeup on a girl, so try a more laid-back look with maybe a little bit of mascara and some gloss. Of course, you’ll need to be sure that you are kissable, so try a gloss like C.O. Bigelow’s Mentha Lip Shine that isn’t too sticky and tastes minty!
