Working at home can be a challenge, because there are so many distractions as well as ways to procrastinate. I feel fortunate that I’m able to work part-time from home, but it can turn you into a slob.
On the days when I don’t have to leave my house, I feel compelled to stay in my pajamas or at least shower and get back in my pajamas (particularly during winter storms like the ones we’ve been having). While this seems like no big deal, it can turn into a bad habit if you let it.
I find that the best way to be productive while working from home is to get up, get dressed and put on some makeup. Even if you just put on your 5-minute face or at the very least some moisturizer, you won’t be tempted to lounge around or feel like you have to deal with every unimportant distraction.
The bottom line is that working from home doesn’t mean you have to lack professionalism in style and beauty. However, I’m working on applying this piece of advice to my life, so I wish those work at home chicks out there good luck.
