The Mulleavy sisters, the brains behind Rodarte, showed their Fall 2010 collection on Tuesday, and Women’s Wear Daily reported that morning that MAC will release a collaborative color collection with the designers this September.
This isn’t terribly surprising, given that Rodarte has gone from a cult-like following to a Target collaborator to a runway favorite, so I imagine that the MAC line will sell well! MAC did the makeup for the show this week, and the colors were very organic — they used Quarry, a plum-brown eyeshadow all over the lid and then layered on some Silver Ring, a dark gray with some sparkle to it.
The cheeks were slightly contoured with the same eyeshadow used, Quarry. Lips were kept natural-looking by using lipstick in Hipster, blotting, and then applying lipstick in Dubonnet just to the center of the lips.
I expect that the color collaboration will be similar to this palette — sort of earthy and dreamy — but I can’t wait until the images are released!
