H&M Launches a New Organic Skincare Line

H&M had big news today when they announced a new skin care line that is Ecocert certified! Ecocert is the biggest cosmetics certification that exists in Europe, so this is a big deal for the Swedish company that has become so popular with frugalistas here in the U.S.

The line will launch in March, and will consist of shower gel, body scrub, body lotion, hand cream and lip balm. The products will come in two scents: Lavender & Mint or Raspberry & Melon. The prices will range from $4.95 to $7.95, keeping true to the standard H&M pricing.

I’m curious to see how these products will be received. I’m personally not one to be inclined to buy hand lotion while I’m shopping for clothes, but according to statements issued by the company, it was a natural next step.

“It felt like a natural step, since we’ve worked with organic cotton garments for a few seasons now. There’s also a strong demand from our customers for organics, and I hope they will be as excited as I am about the new products,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design.

I like that they chose two very different scents, because I definitely like to switch it up depending on my mood. Lavender & Mint sounds relaxing to me, whereas Raspberry & Melon sounds like a fun and outgoing scent. Will you be on the lookout for these products at your local H&M next month?
