Yesterday I got my copy of the March issue of Vogue in the mail. This month is a huge spring issue, so I settled down with it at home because it was too heavy to lug around on the train! In the issue is a great story about world-renowned hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai and his hair empire which allows him to make people look fabulous, have a lovely family and raise adorable French donkeys.
Nope, I’m not kidding about that (see above)! He seriously lives on a farm in New York where he has donkeys. After reading this article, it only made me admire him more for the amazing company he has built — not to mention the fact that his products make my hair look fantastic!
Fekkai was really the first to delve into the world of “luxury hair care”, and he does it well. He has an extensive line of products that will begin to be available at pharmacies across the country (”Not everyone has a Saks in their city,” he says in the Vogue interview), as well as some products that will remain exclusive to upscale chains (a cause of upset for Sephora, if you remember from a few months ago).
He still cuts hair from time to time, but one lucky lady who can always get an appointment is his wife, Shirin. If only we could all find men who were successful AND amazing hair stylists. Sigh.
