The smoky eye is a sexy look, but it involves so much eyeshadow and mascara. At the end of the night, the last thing I feel like doing is scrubbing my makeup off. It’s also not healthy for your eye area to be rough when removing makeup, but I’ve found a solution that works wonders on mascara!
So I’ve bought the eye makeup removers, which can cost $8 or more, and to be honest, I’m usually never satisfied. Often I have to use quite a bit of it, and those small bottles don’t last long. Fortunately, I found an eco-friendly and safe remedy for removing mascara, and the secret ingredient is…olive oil.
What I did was use one of my empty makeup remover bottles, and I filled it with straight olive oil from my kitchen. Before I wash my face, I apply the olive oil to a cotton ball or even my washcloth and gently coat my eyelid and lashes. The mascara just comes right off, and the best part is that you don’t have to be aggressive and rub your eye red! Then you can go about washing your face and remove the olive oil and residual makeup. Easy, huh?
