Experimenting with different makeups, lotions, wrinkle creams, etc. is part of being a woman, but it can get expensive if you have to try the latest products. I know from experience that shopping with coupons is an inconvenience, but if you have some patience and really need to save on cash, you will soon learn that it’s the only way to shop. More »

Do you have color treated hair? If so, what are you doing to protect your pricey highlights, lowlights or all over color? My trips to the salon every seven weeks are not cheap ones, which is why I do everything I can to preserve my color for as long as possible, and it’s become more challenging since I added red highlights that tend to fade fast. The dry winter season wreaks havoc on my entire body including my hair and scalp. I’ve been hearing quite a bit about Chaz Dean’s WEN collection, but I wasn’t sure that I wanted to give it a try until yesterday. I figured the purchase was meant to be, because QVC had a special for Groundhog’s Day so everything was available on 4 easy payments. How could I pass it up, right? Well, that’s the excuse I’m using, anyway. More »

Last night, L’Oreal and the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) held an event that gave us a glimpse into the future of beauty. As you may know, L’Oreal recently published 100,000 Years of Beauty, a collection of five books that covers the span of beauty from the very beginning to the distant future (available for $295 on Amazon.com). Last night’s panel presentation focused on what we have to look forward to! More »

I haven’t ever watched Jersey Shore (nor do I ever really intend to), but that hasn’t stopped these ridiculous people from showing up in every magazine and blog that I read. Perhaps the most talked about cast member is the girl who goes by the name “Snooki” and looks like she should be working in Willy Wonka’s factory. The Cut posted a great video of Snooki being made “under” by Inside Edition this morning, which you should check out first. Then, watch this YouTube tutorial on how to get Snooki’s look! More »

It‘s time to check out Kim Kardashian’s new fragrance line. Kim continues to dazzle us with her dedication as a successful entrepreneur and pop-culture icon. She has her own top rated television show and her own successful online fashion business. Not to mention constant media attention, sometimes provoked by her voluptuous figure. More »

When my hair was longer, I loved using my triple barrel waver to mix up my styles. I never knew these existed until I was perusing my local beauty supply store. When it comes to hair, I like to change it up regularly whether it’s with my style, color or length. A three-barrel waver can give you waves reminiscent of the 1940s, and it’s a quick way to shake up your style. More »

Yesterday, news started circulating that Madonna had bought about $1.5 million in shares of Vita Coco, the packaged coconut water brand. Apparently she started drinking the stuff like mad on her last tour, and has begun to promote it. If her involvement with Kabbalah is any indication, we might be in for another fad. But what are the real health benefits to coconut water? More »

Nars Spring 2010 Collection has launched and it is to die for. When you enter their website, up pops an image of model, Amber Valletta. Her look is reminiscent of a sixties French actress. Her eyes are painted golden yellow from eyelid to brow, her cheekbones are perfectly sculpted, and on her lip a flirty but demure glossy pink shade. More »

Winter’s been rough. And while most of us still have quite a few months until we can start donning sandals again, it’s never too early to start getting our feet in shape. When I say winter’s been rough, I mean it’s probably been pretty rough on your feet. Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme can help you out with that. More »

I read some rather disturbing news the other day about a beauty trend in Thailand. Apparently, young girls there think it is really trendy to have braces, because you can mix and match the color of the bands on them. The problem is that orthodontics in Thailand, like in most other countries, are really expensive. A sort of black market has developed, selling dangerous knockoff braces to the young trendsetters. Vanity Fair magazine runs a “New Hollywood” issue each year, featuring the stars who they deem up-and-coming. The March 2010 issue features nine lovely ladies on the cover, all very talented and beautiful. The problem? Some people are a little miffed that the group is not at all diverse. More »
