Here’s a tool that I’ve never seen before: shields that you put under your eyes so that your eye makeup doesn’t smudge while you are applying it, and then you throw them out. The Sephora Shadow Shields are essentially cotton pads with adhesive on the back so that they stay in place. But are these really necessary?
The reviews on Sephora.com are actually great for this product. People claim that they can’t live without them now that they have tried them! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I have never really had a problem with my eye makeup being so messy that I get it under my eyes while applying. Obviously you can’t walk around with these stuck on your face all day, so I would imagine that it doesn’t prevent the smudging that tends to happen later in the day.
I think I can live without this product for now. $12 seems like a lot for fancy cotton pads. Maybe these are more useful if you work as a makeup artist and are using heavy makeup with little time to spare on cleanup? Would you consider these for your at-home make up collection?
