Product Review: Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous

I pretty much always use Maybelline brand mascaras — they are great quality and super-affordable! One of my favorites since it was released last year is the Lash Stiletto formula. It really separates the lashes and gives them a nice glossy coat. Unfortunately, I’m not so crazy about the new Lash Stiletto Voluptuous product.

The Voluptuous version of Lash Stiletto is the same mascara formula with a different brush. They call it a “Plump and Stretch” brush, and it has a sort of curved shape to it. The first few times that I used it, I thought it was pretty similar to the first version. I didn’t see a huge difference in volume.

Then, after a few days, the mascara started to thicken. This happens with nearly all mascaras once they have been opened, but it doesn’t work so well with this brush because the product gets clumped up in the bend of the brush. I spent more time trying to even out the product on the brush than I would have liked.

In short, I wouldn’t waste my time on this version of Lash Stiletto — the original is so much better, so why change it? You can buy Lash Stiletto or Lash Stiletto Voluptuous at your local drugstore, or at Ulta.
