This past week, news surfaced that American Idol star Adam Lambert is planning on releasing a line of cosmetics for men. And no, this isn’t going to be like that time your brother stole your concealer to hide a zit on prom night… this is like a line of eyeliner, lip products and more. Totally weird.
I confess that I actually do live under a rock and had to look up exactly who this Adam Lambert guy was in the first place. I guess it’s nice that he wants to be a pioneer into men’s cosmetics, but here’s my question: how will men’s cosmetics be any different than women’s? Will he created a foundation that won’t clump up in your chin stubble? Perhaps he’ll create bigger brushes for the sake of manly-hand precision. I’m going to call “marketing scheme” on this one, but I suppose only time will tell.
I’d be totally freaked out if my boyfriend started wearing makeup. Not that he would anyway — he’s so patient, even when it takes me longer to get ready in the morning, but I know he’s really thinking “does she really need to wear this stuff??” The chances of him adding that extra trouble into his day is about zero. Do you think any of the men in your life would be open to this product line?

“Do you think any of the men in your life would be open to this product line?”
There’s plenty of gay men in the US who would consider it.
