Monday night was the second episode of Jessica Simpson’s new VH1 show, The Price of Beauty. This episode took place in Paris, the fashion capital of the world! Jessica starts off the trip by checking out some sexy Frenchmen on the street, and hoping that she’ll find love in Paris. Instead, she finds a runway coach who nearly makes her vomit with nerves.

When Jessica, Ken and CaCee meet up with their beauty ambassador, a French fashion model, they have their first awkward encounter with model culture: the group orders plates of French pastries, and when they are delivered the model picks up a piece of garnish from the side of the plate and jokes with them that this is all she can eat. Except she isn’t really joking, and sits there not eating while the rest devour the pastries.

They visit the Caudalie Spa, which looks pretty awesome! A woman explains the process in French, to which Jessica replies “I don’t talk French!” Jessica also keeps saying that the treatments are weird, but how weird can it be for someone to squish grapes all over your back or to sit in a big vat of wine? That sounds like a blast to me!

As in the first episode when they met the woman who destroyed her skin in her quest for beauty, Jessica & Co. sit down with a woman suffering from anorexia after being pressured by the fashion world. This is definitely the reason why Diane von Furstenberg puts so much pressure on the CFDA around the issue of size regulations for models — this girl is practically wasting away!

Finally, Jessica faces her fear of walking the runway after receiving a brief and less than encouraging lesson from a superbitch coach. Jessica tells the coach that she just isn’t a model, to which she replies “Oh yes, we know that.” Poor Jess is triumphant anyway, and gets her picture taken in front of the Eiffel Tower by Giles Bensimon before peacing out of Paris.
