By now I’m sure everyone has heard that shampooing every day can actually dry out your hair more than if you forgo a day or two in between. My problem is that I grew up on a shampoo every day schedule, and I’m finding it sort of difficult to break from.

If I skip a day of shampoo, my roots look oily and disgusting by noon. I’ve written about dry shampoo products in the past, but sometimes even those aren’t enough to save my hair from looking unkempt. I’ve heard that your scalp produces more oil to compensate for your shampooing habits, and that if I start washing every other day that eventually my skin will adjust. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to make it that far. I can barely last a day with stringy looking hair.

Do you shampoo every day? Have you ever made the transition from every day to every other?

i think it’s more like every other day now lol
unless something happened on the in-between day that i need a shower XD

I shampoo every other day…I’m a dirty girl, haha.

i have to shampoo everyday otherwise my hair would be so incredibly oily and disgusting. i’ve tried the “no ‘poo” regime (as i have curly hair) but its just not possible for me, i still produce wayyy too much oil no matter how long I go without shampoo

Well I don’t shampoo everyday and have noticed that my hair is fine^.^
I guess your hair just needs time to get used to your new routine^.^
