The weather has finally warmed up here for me. I just want to remind you sun bathing beauties to protect yourself from the damaging rays of the sun by remembering to use a sufficient SPF lotion for both the body and the face while having summer fun in the sun.
Sunburn can sometimes happen without showing immediate signs at first.
Here are five quick natural beauty tips for treating that sneaky sunburn.
How will you know you have sunburn?
Your skin will start to feel inflamed, red, feel itchy, irritated and dry. After a few days, skin will appear dry and will start to peel or flake.
How to treat it:
Milk is the best way to treat and calm skin irritation. In addition, the lactic acid will help smooth out the dry flaky skin. Use up to a gallon or more of milk for the best results.
Mud can also be used, when mixed with water to create a thicker texture. Apply the mud on the body directly instead of adding the mud into your bath water as you would with milk. The mud will also act as a natural exfoliate for dead skin cells.
Aloe Vera is wonderful for soothing the skin and can prevent a certain amount of peeling.
Cucumber slices will sooth and cool the inflammation of the skin. Just cut a few slices and apply where needed.
Ice will also help cool down the heated areas of sun burnt skin.
