I first started using Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer last year. I interned at a major fashion magazine, and there were sample packets of the stuff hanging around the office, which is the only reason why I even bothered to try it. You see, self-tanner and I don’t mix well. I’m a pasty white girl, and in the past any artificial glow that I tried looked just that: artificial.
I first tried samples of the facial moisturizer, and was pleasantly surprised at the result! It didn’t make me look “tan” per se, but it gave me enough color that I looked healthier and more glowy. Then, I went to the drugstore and bought the body moisturizer, and I was even more impressed — The scent of the lotion is really nice, and it again gives a nice glow without making you look like you’ve been using self-tanner. I like the fact that Jergens is really affordable too!
The only downside is that the color doesn’t last long, and you have to apply it at least every other day to keep the color going. You build with it gradually, so you really have to make it a part of your morning routine. I also recommend allow for some absorption time before you put on your clothes — even though the lotion doesn’t have heavy pigment in it, I’m always extra cautious with products like these around my clothes. I’ve also had mild issues of the color becoming a little streaky after showering, but it’s barely noticeable on the rare occasion that it happens!
