Are you one of many people who are eyebrow challenged? Professional makeup artists sometimes use brow stencils to get those hard to get eyebrow shapes that the client’s natural brows simply will not allow.

Urban Apothecary has replicated celebrity brows like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston into fun, user-friendly brow stencils. Obviously if your brows are naturally thicker and you’re going for something thinner, I suggest you go into a salon and have them trimmed down and shaped slightly thinner for the best results.

Shapeless and straight brows are the ideal type for the use of eyebrow stencils generally. Although anyone looking to simply change up an eyebrow look without over plucking, waxing or waiting for eyebrows to re-grow can use them.

Makeup artists have the ability to pluck and shape the brows before use, so I suggest picking a brow stencil that will also work for your face shape.

Tips:
Simply place the stencil over the brow area, making sure the stencil is aligned correctly with the existing brows. You can also use a brow gel first for unruly brows. This technique will ensure the brows will stay and lay in place before the application of a brow pencil or brow shadow.

Use a firm angled brush to apply brow eyeshadow over the brow area. The angle in the brush will make application easier to control.

I also suggest using a small amount of concealer over the brows to prep the area for eyeshadow, which will also give you long-wearing results.

For naturally darker brows, use a medium brown/dark taupe color for a more natural look. Light to blonde brows can use a light blonde color or lightest taupe shade. If you want something more dramatic go with a brow shadow 1-2 shades darker than your natural brow color.

Have fun!
