Burberry announced this week that they will launch a makeup line in July. Christopher Bailey, the creative director of the brand, wanted to create the line to ensure that makeup artists at Burberry fashion shows would have the right colors to correspond with the clothing.

The line is said to be inspired by the Burberry trench coat, the line’s signature piece. The initial line will have 96 different items, including lipstick, eyeliner, eye shadow, and foundation. I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with, although I wonder if the line will just be a lot of the same old colors with the Burberry label slapped on it. The designer makeup lines tend to be a little more expensive too, so I’m always a little hesitant to buy them. Will you try out this new line?
