There seems to be a growing trend of the “ombre” look in hair. We’ve seen it on nails before, but ombre hair? I’ll be honest — when I first saw pictures of ladies rocking this look, I thought it was just severely grown out roots.

Turns out people actually have this done to their locks on purpose! The word “ombre” means “shadow” in French, so this look basically fades from light into dark. I’ve seen it on a lot of hipster types, but I also think that Rachel Bilson looks pretty good with this look. I’d imagine that it probably works best on people with dark hair to begin with, although if you were a darker blonde you might be able to really bleach out the bottom.

Would you ever consider the ombre look in your hair?
