Scarlett Johansson’s Turquoise Eyes for Dolce & Gabbana

I just saw this new ad for the Dolce & Gabbana makeup campaign, and I have to say that I’m pretty impressed! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Scarlett Johansson wear a lot of blue, but the turquoise eyeshadow looks incredible on her! It also really pops against the dark navy dress she’s wearing. Blue shadow can be tough to pull off, but I think that this ad campaign gives us some valuable pointers on how to wear it.

– This shadow is very multi-faceted and shimmery, which gives it good dimension. Wearing a solid blue eye shadow will make you look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show, so you are better off going with a shimmery color.

– Use a shimmery pearl color on the brow bone and toward the outer corners of the eye and BLEND! You want the look to be soft all around.

– Keep the rest of your makeup neutral. I love the peachy pink on the lips and nails in this photo. They keep everything in balance!
