Redbook MVP Beauty Awards

On Thursday morning, Redbook announced the winners of their annual MVP Beauty Awards! Thirty-nine new products were recognized, and this year’s theme was “Beauty That Makes Sense.” That meant that products were divided into categories of Taste, Sight, Touch, Smell, and Hearing.

The DuWop Icedteas that we wrote about last week made the “taste” list, as well as a new line of flavored body powders by Hard Candy.

It’s interesting that they included the “Sight” and “Touch” categories, because the beauty experience is definitely more than just how the product works — how many times have you purchased a product because of the way that it looks or smells?

Wondering how a beauty product wins for “Hearing”? The winners included some of the instructional talking makeup palettes that came out this year, like the By Lauren Luke My Sultry Blues Palette and the Stila Makeup Player
