I read recently about a Nails, Inc. pop-up shop at the Henri Bendel department store in New York. The British company boasts a service that they call the “three-week manicure.” The name pretty much explains it: a manicure that lasts three weeks. But doesn’t this sound awfully familiar?
Upon further investigation, I learned that the manicure is actually a soak-off UV gel mani, very similar to my beloved Calgel. There are now a few different brands of the soak-off UV gel that are being offered in U.S. salons, including one called Axxium by OPI.
I’m happy to see an influx of soak-off gel here, and also eager to test them out and compare them! I’m also hoping that as the method becomes more popular that salon prices will go down a little bit. $50 is a lot for a manicure, even if it does last for three weeks!
