Last night, I used a hair removal cream for the first time ever. I have always been a traditional razor and shaving cream kind of girl, but I decided to try something new since my skin has been really irritated by shaving recently. I tried out Veet’s Spray On Hair Removal Cream, and I was pleasantly surprised at how I liked it.
The big hesitation that I have toward hair removal creams are the chemicals. I don’t like the thought of something essentially melting the hair off of my legs. Once I got over that concept, I sprayed the foam on my legs while standing in the tub like the directions said to do. The application was really easy, but boy was it a mess! Even though I thought I was only aiming at my legs, the stuff ended up all over my shower wall and on the bottom of the tub. It was also insanely slippery, and I was pretty sure that falling on my butt was inevitable. I managed to make it into a sitting position on the side of the tub, and waited three minutes before removing.
You remove the foam with the plastic scraper tool that comes with the bottle. I really like this part because it helped me get the hair off of the most annoying spot to shave: the back of the knees. I always cut myself with a razor when I try to shave that obnoxious little indent, but the curved shape of the scraper and the fact that it isn’t sharp means that the area is super smooth!
Maybe I just need some practice with products like this, but I do notice a few spots that are still a little stubbly despite the fact that most of my legs are completely smooth. I’d say the biggest drawback to this product is the mess — it’s an awful mess. I had to completely scrub down my tub when I was finished. I’d recommend this to others, but be sure you have the time to properly wash everything up after! You can get it at pretty much any drugstore.
