When you read a lot about beauty like I do, you begin to realize that people generally fall under one of two splurge categories: salon manicures or nail polish purchases. I’ve rarely come across a woman who doesn’t love the idea of getting her nails done, but some of those women prefer to build their home collections rather than pick from a salon’s colors.

I definitely fall under the “salon manicures” category. As you probably know, I’m a big fan of Calgel nail art which I have to get done at a salon — I’m a terrible artist! Also, since I live in a city where there are thousands of salons competing for everyone’s business, I can get a regular mani-pedi for $15. That’s much better to me than trying to do it at home.

There are some awesome bloggers, like All Lacquered Up and The Daily Nail, that have ridiculous collections of polish at home! They spend tons of money on polishes and tools that they use to make their nails look amazing.

I can do nails at home like salons. Its cheaper, neater and faster!


Eh I like doing my nails by myself xD.
Salons take too long e.e + don’t want to spend as much moneyy


I like have the strangest nails ever and I have never actually paid attention to them much but sometimes I do self nail polish but I never go to salons:)


If I have money, salon. If I don’t, self.


i like salon manicures, but i’ve only ever done my own nails
one of these days, i will get a mani haha
i think salon ones are more neater


aww cute - i’m okay at it until i try to do my left hand lol
so i’d like the salon ones for complicated designs so that they are even
but it can be fun collecting your own too :]


I can’t do nail art stuff haha
I just use one color and paint my nails with it~
I like collecting OPI manicures though hehe
