Blame my bad luck, but I have sensitive skin that can’t handle any thick, fragrance-y moisturizer. Up until this year, I’ve been using baby lotion to moisturize my face, but even that was a bit too much for me. Last December, I finally dragged my lazy butt out to Clinique, where the saleswoman introduced me to this amazing gift from heaven.

Product: Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturizer
Description: Light, comfortable cream/gel plumps skin with hydration for a full 24 hours. Fine lines, flakiness and tightness are washed away. In their place—a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity. One ‘drink’ and skin looks and feels happier, healthier.
Rating: 5/5

Although their description overplays the product’s amazingness, I completely agree with the first three words. This isn’t so much a lotion as it is a light gel, and it’s great because it moisturizes without any of that sticky, clog-your-pores feeling. It’s very light, and I compare this application to rubbing water on your face. That’s how comfortable it is.

And the best part is, it’s noticeable. I don’t know about 24-hour coverage, but I use this in the morning before I head off to school, and as I’m on the train 15 minutes later, I notice my skin becoming softer, dare I say plumper? You don’t even need a lot of this stuff, the amount I show you guys in the pic above is all I use every day. I mainly moisturize my cheeks because that’s where the wind hits me the hardest and I merely pat over the rest of my face. Still, I’ve been using the same jar since December—now that’s what I call a bargain.

This moisturizer comes in two different sizes, the 1.7 oz/50 mL one and the 2.5 oz/75 mL one, at $34 and $46.50, respectfully. I have the smaller jar and it’s kept me happy so far. It might seem a bit pricey, but that’s what you pay for stuff that works. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new moisturizer, and it’s extremely helpful during the fall/winter seasons.
