Not surprisingly, after pop sensation Lady Gaga came out with her Bad Romance music videos, teenagers across the globe scrambled to get her wide-eyed look by purchasing circle lenses. However, if infected, these contacts can cause a person to lose their vision within 24 hours. Now is it worth it?

Circle lenses are not available in the U.S. as they haven’t been approved by health officials (gasp I didn’t know that), but that doesn’t stop people from buying them overseas. The ironic part here is that Gaga’s eyes were digitally enhanced post-production (duh!), but it’s always fun seeing what people can cook up from their makeup kit.

So without further ado, check out our favorite YouTuber Michelle Phan’s guide to big Gaga-licious eyes.

And ’cause Gaga’s awesome, here’s her Bad Romance music video.

Now regarding circle lenses, and contact lenses in general, they shouldn’t pose much of a threat if you’re taking good care of them (and you should, because you’re putting these things in your eyes). Just with circle lenses, you need to take better care.
