Keratin Complex’s Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder was created with the eternally on-the-go in mind. Dry shampoo as of late has been quite a trend due to the demand for beauty products that accomodate busy lives. Always a sucker for trends, I’ve recently given the dry shampoo a try.

For those who aren’t familiar with the concept of dry shampoo, just know that dry shampoo is what it sounds like. Shampoo that is dry - do not add water! While I do say that dry shampoo, “is what it is,” Keratin Complex’s Volumizing Dry Shampoo is what it is, and then some.

Prior to receiving the powder, I’d only encountered dry shampoo powders in unportable jars or bulky spray cans. I was quite surprised to find that the powder was in a double-sided tube with one side containing a small jar of powder and the other a retractable brush to apply the powder to your hair. At 3 inches tall (6 grams of powder), the powder was small enough to keep in your purse. (But not too small to get lost in a purse.) I found the design of the product to be quite smart! What’s pictured above is pretty much an accurate representation of the product.

Although you only get 6 grams of powder and a free refill, it’s actually more than you expect. After receiving much use from me this week, I’ve yet to make a dent in the powder. At this rate, I’m predicting that I’ll move on to the refill 3 months from now.

To use the product you can brush it directly to where your hair is the greasiest, or put powder into your hand and apply it with your fingers. Initially, it may seem like you’re dumping flour on your head but the powder absorbs rather quickly with a few tousles. I found the effects to be almost instant. The oil that weighs your hair down disappears so that your hair is clean and lifted to it’s original state of bounce and cleanliness.

Overall, I was incredibly pleased with this product for it’s busy-person design and it’s performance in instantly transforming greasy, dirty hair to fresh, bouncy hair. I highly recommend this for anyone!
