BBC Four have come out with a new miniseries called Perfume, which offers an unprecedented look inside the multibillion-dollar global perfume industry and some of the bizarre work behind the much loved perfumes we all buy.
The program goes through everything from the research which goes into creating that laundry-fresh detergent to the industry’s most usual employees known as “skins” which attempt to re-create the eating hygiene habits of specific groups for fragrance testing. One of the ’skins’ eats nothing but ramen and never really bathes while the other skin tries to mimic the odor profile of a young adult make.
If you don’t live in Britain you will not be able to go watch this show on the BBC Iplayer but instead you can watch this interesting show here. It’s actually really interesting, I sat down and watched this show and I was laughing at the stereotypes of the ’skins’.
What do you think of this new show? Any of you British watching it?
