With Juicy Couture being known as a very glamorously girly brand, their expansion into beauty products reflects that same image. One of their well-known fragrances is the “Viva La Juicy” scent. This scent of couture is described as a wild mix of florals and warm spices that gives it just the right amount of kick to be really pleasant and enticing. Finding out that they had a rollerball version of the scent, I was intrigued in to see just what it was all about.
From the get go, the rollerball version is a really nice option for those looking to use the scent without having to commit for a long time. You get 0.25oz, which is more than enough to last you for a good bit. The rollerball applicator makes it easier to really direct where you want the scent to linger, rather than the spray applicator that kind of just puts it out like a cloud.
Onto the scent, when you get the first whiff, it’s described as having “top notes of wild berries and juicy mandarin gently tempered with honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine,” which ends up pretty accurate and very pleasing to the nose that it smells very inviting and feminine. Though then the scent brings in the underlying tones, which consist of really warm smells, ones that you would love to snuggle up with like amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline.
For me, I really like how it smells. It’s not so much a “sexy” scent, rather just youthfully mature. With how it would really match the carefree attitude of a teenager, yet would be enough to show off the more womanly charms of a young adult - fitting for the general age market that I associate with Juicy Couture, pretty much.
It lasted pretty well for a day out, especially since it’s more recommended that you just apply it to certain areas, rather than all over (which probably wouldn’t work too well, seeing as the scent is distributed from the bottle from a sphere). Mostly I kept it to the behind the ears/neck area, which seemed to work pretty well.
The eye-catching gold and fuchsia pink design and color scheme of the bottle just reinforces that Juicy look, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just cute.
Overall, very pleased and would definitely wear this fragrance more often, since the mix of florals and spices works well for a year-round scent.
Score: 4/5
