If I could only wear one type of product on my face for the rest of my life, I would pick BB Cream, hands down. Well, minus when I get all wrinkly with age, since that probably wouldn’t look very flattering at all. This is the perfect kind of product for me to cover up the blemishes on my face with; my sensitive skin is allergic to foundation for some strange reason. I was given the opportunity to try out the Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream in #23. “Infused with organic ingredients, a patented natural healing complex and 7 free ingredients, this BB Cream is very gentle to your skin.” Let’s see how well this worked out.
First of all, I must say that the packaging is very appealing and sophisticated looking. The box is slightly…metallic? Is that the word for it? The size of the tube was 20 g, made in Korea, with a gold colored cap that twists off. SPF is 25 for UV protection, with PA++, anti-wrinkle and brightening effects. All the information about the product on the back of the box was mostly written in Korean; poor me can’t read it.
Apparently, there are three shades available for this BB Cream, No.13- Milky Beige (not on the website though), No.21- Light Beige, and lastly the darkest one, the one I have: No.23- Natural Yellow Beige. When I first opened the tube and squeezed out some of the cream, my eyes went wide. “Wae is it so dark?! My face is going to turn darker!” There is a slightly darker brown cast to the cream at first, but when applied and evened out on the face, it blends in much better and looks lighter. Waiting a bit helps the color to set in.
For comparison, on my arm left is the SKIN79 Diamond Collection- The Prestige Beblesh Balm, right is the Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream in #23:
About my skin: It is considered on the pale side for Asians but I still have that yellow-ish tint (I’m Chinese), sensitive, random acne every now and then, can be a bit oily, pink in certain spots.
My results of putting BB Cream on is not as drastic of a change then when I first started using it, fyi. Here is a Before and After pic (sorry about the lighting, it doesn’t do the glow-y effect justice!):
“After your basic skin care regimen of BB Boomer, take appropriate amount and spread evenly onto your facial skin and pat gently with your finger tips for the complete absorption.” Following these steps, I put it on after the Missha BB Boomer. The texture is smooth and not clumpy at all. Because of the darker shade, I was able to cover my blemishes and red areas with much more ease than the SKIN79 I mentioned before. As a result, my face received a nice healthy warm glow to it, compared to the natural paleness. My face is actually a little darker than the rest of my body, so brightening it with the BB Cream helps.
On Missha’s official site, this BB cream is “a luxurious line of BB Cream that contains Skin Lipid, this BB cream covers, soothes and stays.” Yup, they got that right! I didn’t know about the skin lipid part though, which sounds a little weird. The cream stays on rather well. When I sweat, I dab my face lightly to get the unneeded moisture off, but the BB Cream stays on quite nicely. It helps if you wear a Boomer or something of the sort underneath, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. For more information to see whether this is the BB Cream for you and to purchase, go here!
When my little tube runs out (which by the way isn’t that little), I shall consider getting the 45g one. Great coverage, looks smooth and glows modestly. Doesn’t weigh down the skin at all and makes you feel and look great! And, about breakouts, my face hasn’t broken out yet and it has been a few weeks. I’ve been using BB Cream in general for a while now, and the whitening effect helped me get rid of a lot of the redness on my cheeks especially. To remove, I used a daily facial cleansing towelette, easy-peasy, quick and painless.
Score: 4/5
